The certification procedure entered into force on 1 July 1992.
Since then, mobile phone base stations with an equivalent isotropic radiated power of 10 watts or over may only be placed into operation anywhere in Germany, if the safety of people exposed to electromagnetic fields is ensured at the installation site.
This is ensured by the site certificate.
